Sketches

A couple of small sketches of chickens and a birdie. I wanted to do some colorful abstractive figures.
They are just made to try out the Caran d'Ache neocolor I crayons. The crayons mix very well and I love the bright colors.

  1. Can you get fine detail with these Lene ... they look like the wax crayons we used to have as children. If you can't get sharp points, can you mix/match these with conventional coloured pencils?

The colours look quite strong and vibrant here.

  2. hi Sue - the difference from the childhood crayons are that these are artistic quality :) .. but they have the same greasy application.
I didn't try mixing with cp's, but you can add cp's to oilpastels so why not :)

  3. Thanks Lene
These probably aren't for me then but its good to get feedback as there are so many pencils/papers etc out there it can be very confusing (and expensive)

  4. You are right - I wouldn't have bought these if it was not because I now follow a course, where we must use them. And then I found I like them - at least for abstract/contemporary artwork ;D
