Project: A drawing a day finished

My project, A drawing a day, is now over - I managed 9 out of 14 drawings... well, I was sure, I would make it, but even these are small drawings, some days just didn't allow time at the drawing-table.

Here's the collection of 9 flowers in ink :) All freehand drawings, looking at flowers in front of me or on photos.

1-year wall calenders

This is early info, and I'll probably mention it again - but just to let you know, I am uploading some of my dog-drawings on a 2017 wall-calender 1-year sheet. Here's the beagle version. Find them at http://society6.com/doggyshop. Please, don't hesitate to ask for breeds on these calendars - mail me or go to my Doggyshop.dk at Facebook

Project: A drawing a day

A potted plant from my house, was my model :)

Flatcoated retriever hvalp Cardhu

Project: A drawing a day

Sorry to have missed 4 days of the project - but here are new drawings. At least I have 2 for today, then :)

I alternate between dtawing freehand from photos and from Life. These Are from Life. The peony in a vase - it is from ny garden. The Calla is a potted plant.

KS 16

The artworks explores the relationship between postmodern discourse and vegetarian ethics.
With influences as diverse as Rousseau and L Ron Hubbard, new insights are generated from both constructed and discovered narratives.
Ever since I was a postgraduate I have been fascinated by the endless oscillation of meaning. What starts out as yearning soon becomes corroded into a carnival of power, leaving only a sense of dread and the possibility of a new understanding."  Bla-bla-bla.
.

Project: A drawing a day

I nearly didn't find the time today, even these small sketches do not take a lot of time :)

My flower #6 is a rose - quite complicated flowerhead I would say. This is my result.

Inkpens are 0.1, 0.05 and 0.03

By the way, the magnoliatree I wished for in my Drawing a day project yesterday are swapped for a book - about art of cause :)

Mythology deco

Siren

ENG: today I have enjoyed finishing a graphite/ink-drawing: "Siren".

The Siren is from greek mythology. A beautiful creature - originally a bird with female face - she sits on rocks in the ocean. With her wonderful song, she attracts sailors, who's ships hits the rocks and go down.

There are many exciting mythological histories. "Siren" is my second. Earlier I have painted a Valkyrie in colored pencil. She's from Nordic/Scandinavian mytohology.

Project: A drawing a day

Day 5 - today it's a drawing of a bud - from the magnolia-tree. I love these buds and flowers, but I have to take photos in someone elses garden, as I don't have one myself ... maybe that could be a wish for a birthday-present:)

Koala mug

I have to show you this cutie !
My "koala" printed on a mug (and also as a print). This is one of the new prints in my Wildlife collection athttp://society6.com/lenedaugaard. You can buy it, of cause :)

Project: A drawing a day

This is flower #4 - I don't know what this is called, but its a very pretty pink flower with a striking yellow center.

Project: A drawing a day

Today I didn't have much time to draw, but did manage to do my daily drawing project.
This is a Pansy from my frontgarden - #3 in the series

Project: A drawing a day

I enjoy using my ink-pens.
The drawings don't take a lot of time, but they do require concentration, eye-to-hand control and a somewhat steady hand (no erasing possible :))

I am in love with line :)

This is my daily drawing today: Poppy #2

Mugs - cannot live without them..

I think its a thrill to place many of my drawings as designs on a range of items.
The most popular item in my Society6 shop are mugs.  I bet there's a mug you'll like - or know is just the right gift for your friend, spouse, daughter/son or ....
And I understand that, as I love mugs myself. Mugs with pretty, awesome, wonderful designs on them. It just makes my coffee taste a little better - its true ;)

Take a look at my many mug-designs: MUGS

I think my Glorious Iris design looks smashing - if I have to say it myself :)

Long live blogging #2

... I did a research throughout all the blogs I have on my list - my godness - I think only about 1/4 are still active. As mentioned earlier I have not been very active following peoples blog in a long period - mostly due to other social networks - FB for one....

It is my hope, as I now update my "Blogs I follow"-list onto my blog (not just having a reading-list behind the scenes ;)) that other bloggers will do as well to keep the blogging alive - I think mostly about art, illustrating-bloggers...

Project: A drawing a day

A drawing a day - this very popular project has been interesting me for ... actually years. I tried to do it before, but didn't make it through - at all.

I've now taken on the small project of "Drawing an simple-line-ink-flower a day" for 14 days.
Wham !!- not 30 days or 1 year projects as many do. I have to take a small step :) I also find I have to be very specific in what to draw. Otherwise I kind of sway off and can't keep focus.

And then the technique. No sketchy, seeking, small-stroke lines, as often used in sketching - perhaps mostly in graphite. I want a pure, simple ink-line. Now pure and simple sounds easy. Not so. Don't make mistakes, cause you cannot erase ink. But the case is - I adore this kind of drawings...and a little skewness is lovely.

I look at my reference-photo beside me and then - draw :)

Here is my first one, "Lilly" #1

Long Live Blogging

I know:
Facebook is fast, easy and a looot of people are on Facebook.

But Facebook is also very ... not the very best place to show your artwork, show and tell "more" and keep track of peoples postings... IMO :)

Facebook meant death to a lot of wonderful Forums - places to interact with your fellow artist-friends. I know Facebook has groups...they are not the same as forums was - at all.
FB are daunting to scroll through, you cannot find anything you're looking for (earlier posts etc), and ... well.

Then we have Blogs - I guess they have suffered a lot too...But I really hope Blogs will survive. How will they survive?
By YOU and ME ... by following Blogs - the wonderful blogs with our favorite subjects beeing explored, exposed, commented etc.

I can say, I neglected blogs for a long period. Because it seems FB is easier, more people there and you do have to be there (I feel for myself, at least).

But I want to spend more time visiting my favorite bloggers - time is limited (if you wanna manage your own artwork and blog ;)) - so maybe my FB will suffer.

I hope you'll join - take part of the blogging-world - Follow blogs (right there at my right coloumn ;)) - comment, enjoy wip's etc.

FB seems necessary - but lets keep our Blogs Alive too ;)

Long live Blogging

Follow my blog?

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

I just discovered this site, where one can subscribe to follow favorite blogs.

Heres the oppertunity to follow mine.

I have a website and Facebookpages, Instagram, but I really love blogs - they are better for showing wip's - finished artwork and text.

Glorious Iris - finished drawing

"Glorious Iris".

A botanical illustration.

I wanted to give a try in this field,
and iris' are among my favorite flowers...
Classic botanical illustration must shows details and colors
of the chosen subject.

I found both petals and buds interesting in shape,
texture and colors.

The drawing are in colored pencils, added in light layers
to show the fineness of the flower.

Statement prints

I enjoy playing around with words, the outcome is a collection of t-shirts (and other items) with statements printed,
See if you can relate to any of them :)

Sold from Society6.com/lenedaugaard

So far 18 different and growing :)
